Luisa C. Bacuta-Tagorda M.D.

It is a privilege to take care of the children in this community and to work so closely with the families

Dr. Bacuta completed her undergraduate education from the University of the Philippines and her medical degree from the University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center before immigrating to the United States in 1982. She had her internship and residency training at Ochsner Medical Center in 1989 and received the prestigious Nancy Landman Humanitarian Award. She is Board Certified in Pediatrics in 1990 and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

In 2007, she founded the Children’s Clinic of Raceland, a small town practice where she can provide a true medical home to her patients and develop close relationships with the children and their families. They make her job the best in the world and her pediatric practice extremely fulfilling. Every day, she enjoys the simplicity and sincerity of a rural pediatrician.

She and her husband, Ramon, are blessed with two children, RJ and Lauren, who are now young adults. Together, they have taught her real life experience of parenting which she considers the most gratifying accomplishment of her life.

When not working, she enjoys exercising, yoga, shopping, reading and cheering for the Saints during football season.
